Hawley's Heroes Hit The Heights

by Maddy Orobator

The Endeavour was host to an exciting high-action 3-a-side tournament as the Reserves made up for their Surrey Cup cancellation on January 15th.

Four teams contested a competitive tournament but only one side emerged as the undisputed and unchallenged kings of the day. Scott Hawley, Danny Poulter and Russell Nixon were simply unstoppable as they beat the other sides to win the tournament with two games to spare.

Nixon was Nijinsky himself, Hawley hassled the others and Poulter pulsated all before him as Team 1 proved they were number one.

From the other three teams, Gareth Pryce deserves a mention whilst Alan Whiter asked to be mentioned because, despite the rumors, he was there and he did play - honest.

So the challenge has been set and there is now a trophy to defend. But who is going to take it out of the hands of the number one team aptly called - Team 1?
