This season we are running a Fantasy Football competition using Ruts players. It is closely modelled on the Sun's Dream Team as many people are familiar with this, so each manager will get £40m to pick a team of 11 Ruts players (given fictitious transfer values) in a 4-4-2 formation only.

ELIGIBLE MATCHES

Each player will score points in any first, reserve or third team game (league and cup only, friendlies do not count) between the start date of Saturday October 8th 2005 and the end of the season.

Playing a match (including coming on as sub)

Clean sheet (keepers/defenders)

Man of the Match (as nominated by the managers)

Conceding more than one goal (keepers/defenders)

(note: two yellows in a game incurs a total of -3)

TRANSFER WINDOW

The Transfer Window opens Sunday 18th December and closes Friday 30th December. During this time you can bring in up to three players and must transfer out the same number. So you can make one, two or three changes. Your changes must not take you over your £40m budget or break your 4-4-2 formation. When you bring in a new player you do not get the points he has scored so far. Likewise, points scored by players you transfer out are frozen and remain on your overall score. Your new players will start scoring for you from Saturday December 31st.

The following values have been determined mainly by how many points a player would've scored last season and also their availiability and form so far this season.

Note - there are three new players for you to buy in the Transfer Window. Wayne Alderman (GLK) £1.5m, Nick Raggett (MID) £4m, Dave Watson (MID) £1m.

REGISTERING A TEAM

To enter a team, pick 1 keeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers from the list above (and yes, you can pick yourself). But remember you only have £40m to spend. Registering a team costs £5 and is a good way to raise a bit of money for the football section and have some fun too. The football section will pocket half the total entry fees and the rest will go into the prize pool (so the same principle as the matchcard on a Saturday). With 32 entrants, the prize split is: 1st - £50, 2nd - £20, 3rd - £10.

Scores will be updated each Monday (hopefully - certainly not later than Tuesday) and placed on the site.
