RESERVE
TEAM SQUAD 2007/08
Richard
Hayward (Player Manager) |
| Position: Defender |
Age:
29 |
 |
'Tiny' took over the manager reins in November and has steered the side back on course after a rocky start to the season. Does a brilliant 'Maldini'
impression every so often as he is very comfortable on the ball
and likes to get forward.
|
Wayne
Alderman |
| Position: Goalkeeper |
Age:
27 |
 |
Wayne is a good shot stopper and excellent on penalties, he communicates
well with his back line. The life and soul of the dressing room, he has been a first team regular in the past.
|
| Mark
Kerwick |
|
Position: Defender |
Age:
31 |
 |
A talented, pacy defender who prefers right-back but can operate
as a sweeper, Mark is comfortable on the ball and a good asset to
any team. |
Josh Allen |
| Position: Defender |
Age:
18 |
| |
A graduate of the youth team who can play anywhere across the back, Josh is good on the ball and a great tackler. He has relocated and will be missed for the rest of the season. |
| Scott
Hawley |
|
Position: Defender/Midfielder |
Age:
29 |
 |
Scott is a versatile player who can
play anywhere down the left and has operated mostly at left-back
in recent seasons. His service off the pitch was recognised when he won
Clubman of the Year in 2003.
|
Dan Cousins |
| Position: Defender/Midfielder |
Age: 25 |
| |
A new recruit to the club this season, Dan is a left back good enough on the ball to play left midfield. Fast and a great tackler, he is one to watch after graduating from the 'A' team. |
| Ed
Reynolds |
|
Position: Defender/Midfielder |
Age:
32 |
 |
Ed arrived at the club as a central
midfielder but has been played all over the park such is his ability
to operate in various positions. Committed, comfortable on the ball
and never gives up. |
Rob
Goldsmith |
| Position: Midfielder |
Age:
29 |
 |
Comfortable on the ball, Rob has a nice touch and has slotted
into the Reserves this season after previously playing mostly for the 'A' team. Primarily a central midfielder, he has been filling in at right back recently. |
| Leon
Trowbridge |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
32 |
 |
Leon is one of the longest serving players at the club having notched
up over 400 games. Versatile and committed, he wins the ball back
a lot with his great tackling and is an unselfish player whose hard
work enables others the freedom to play their game.
|
| Jeremy
Capper |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
36 |
 |
Reserve Player of the Year a few seasons ago, Jeremy is
a box to box player and former first team regular in his younger
days. Caps likes to play the game simply and has been unlucky with
injuries over the last few years. |
Jeroen Strating |
| Position: Midfielder |
Age: 31 |
| |
A newcomer to the club, our Dutch central midfielder is neat and tidy on the ball, has good technique and a great engine on him. |
Steve
Nicola |
| Position: Midfielder |
Age:
33 |
 |
Steve is a former Young Player of the
Year and Reserve Player of the Year who is comfortable playing anywhere
across the midfield. Steve designed and maintains this site and was Clubman of
the Year in 2001 and 2003. |
| Kevin
Foster |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
21 |
 |
Kevin likes to play left wing (but can operate up front if
required), has more tricks than Paul Daniels and can beat a defender
for fun. He is as happy supplying quality crosses for the forwards
as he is scoring them himself and has a great future ahead of him. |
James Bone |
| Position: Striker |
Age: 29 |
| |
A talented, pacy wide player who can also operate up front, Bonesy is a speed merchant blessed with great dribbling skills and has an eye for goal. |
Ryan
Stephens |
| Position: Striker |

| |
Ryan is a youngster
who has featured regularly for the Reserves after impressing for the 'A' team last season. Unfortunately a long term injury has ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. |
Billy Finnis |
| Position: Striker |
Age: 27 |
| |
A pacy front man with the intelligence to hold up play and involve his teammates, Billy has rediscovered his touch in front of goal and is having a great season, featuring regularly for the First team. |
Ollie
Hicks |
| Position: Striker |
Age:
21 |
| |
The most improved player at the club, Ollie has been given his chance in the Reserves this season and taken it well, scoring regularly and adding the end product to his game that was missing last season. Fast and skillful, he is one to watch if his improvement continues at this rate. |
Adam
Clark |
| Position: Striker |
Age:
24 |
 |
'Feza' notched up an awesome tally
of 43 goals for the Reserves a few seasons ago, but has been sidelined this year after only a few games and will miss the rest of the campaign. We look forward to his return next season. |
