'A' TEAM SQUAD 2007/08

Graham Larcombe
Position: Manager Age: 40

Boo Boo is in charge of the 'A' team after running the Vets for the last couple of seasons and has done a good job bringing through the graduates of last season's youth team.

Roland Heal
Position: Goalkeeper Age: 44

A big imposing keeper still going strong at the ripe old age of 44, Roly was converted from centre back after migrating from Rugby many years ago. One of the longest serving players with 400 appearances to his name, he is also a dedicated clubman off the pitch.

Nick Wells
Position: Goalkeeper Age: 27

Returning to the club on a regular basis this season, Nick is a great shot stopper who has been sharing the keeper's jersey with Roly as Boo Boo alternates his two goalies.

John Wood
Position: Defender Age: 44

John is a model 'pro' who has previously played a very good standard of football. An invaluable member of the team as he uses
all his experience to marshall and organise the side.

Darren Noonan
Position: Defender Age: 28

'Keown' is a strong, brave centre-half who can set up attacks with his clever passing and was Reserve Player of the Year a couple of seasons ago. Wreaks havoc with his long throws and has a decent scoring record.

Craig Lyle
Position: Defender Age: 31

Probably the most versatile player at the club, Craig has played right-back, right wing-back and centre-back for the first team, as well as midfield and up front for the Reserves. Now shoring up the 'A' team backline, he is a good tackler and was formerly Reserve Player of the Year.

Gary Langton
Position: Defender Age: 25

A no-nonsense left back (as with Stuart Pearce, you only go past him once) who likes to get forward when he can, he has made just the odd cameo appearance this campaign.

Danny Poulter
Position: Defender/Midfielder Age: 30

A skilful midfielder with good vision and touch, Danny has struggled with a serious injury that put paid to his first team days. Now playing at the back for the 'A' team.

Scott Stoney
Position: Defender/Midfielder Age: 27

A former Young Player of the Year, Scott is a ball-winning midfielder or centre back. Has established himself in the 'A' team after injury interrupted his pre-season where he was a regular for the Reserves.

Dan Larkin
Position: Defender Age: 18

A youth team graduate who can play in midfield, Dan has been operating at left back and is a strong tackler who is comfortable on the ball.

Troy McGuigan
Position: Defender/Midfielder Age: 18

Another former youth player, Troy already has over 100 appearances to his name. A clever player who prefers left back but can play in midfield.

Jamie Shawki
Position: Defender/Midfielder Age: 27

'Shawks' is a versatile player most commonly to be found playing right back, although he is comfortable on the ball and can play wide right.

Graham Winter
Position: Defender/Midfielder Age: 27

'Bernie' is a hard-worker most comfortable in midfield but with the ability to play at the back too. The 'B' team Player of the Year in 2000, he has also won 'A' team Player of the Year twice and Young Player of the Year in 2001. Has the honour of being the only Ruts captain to lift a Surrey Cup.

Nigel Watford
Position: Defender/Midfielder/Striker

Age: 33

With almost 500 games for the club Nigel is the appearances record holder and sits proudly atop the Hall of Fame chart. Although his favourite position is centre midfield, 'The Silent Assassin' is very versatile and can play either up front or centre back.

Erol Yilmaz
Position: Midfielder/Striker Age: 35

A former 'A' team Player of the Year, Erol led the team to the Surrey Lower Junior Cup in 2005 as Player Manager, the only Surrey Cup the club has won. He also guided the team to the KDFL Division Three title the same year and is a good target man, although injury has restricted his appearances this term.

Paul Beaumont
Position: Midfielder Age: 35

A very fit, unselfish player who does a lot of work for the team, he is nicknamed Forrest Gump as he never stops running. A strong tackler and committed player, Paul regularly featured in the Firsts and Reserves in his younger days.

Simon Minihane
Position: Midfielder Age: 31

Simon is a speed merchant who can beat players with his pace and also scores important goals. Extremely fit, he can play wing-back or winger and has the distinction of scoring the winning goals in the 2004 League Cup final and 2005 Surrey Cup final.

Dwayne Mitchell
Position: Midfielder Age: 18

Another newly promoted from the youth team, Dwayne is a talented midfielder with quick feet and a good football brain. He could go far and has already played for the Firsts and Reserves.

Rowan Matthews
Position: Midfield/Striker Age: 18

A quick player with a rasping shot, Rowan is one of the emerging crop of youth players but hasn't featured much this season, although he has impressed when he's played.

Lewis Kelly
Position: Midfield/Striker Age: 18

Lewis bagged 34 goals in 41 youth team games and has shown great promise in his first season in men's football. A quick and tricky player who knows where the goal is, Lewis can play out wide or up front and is a great prospect.

Jordan Douglas
Position: Striker Age: 18

Yet another youth graduate, Jordan is a big strong target man comfortable on the ball who has made his mark in the 'A' team already.

Mario Crassas
Position: Striker Age: 22

'Super Mario' is a new player to the club this season and has impressed with his powerful shooting and pace, notching up some important goals along the way.

James Fenton
Position: Striker Age: 22

James is a hard working, tenacious player who gives his all in every match. Aggressive and pacy with a good touch, he was Young Player of the Year in 2002 but has sadly been sidelined with an ankle injury for the rest of this season.
