FIRST
TEAM SQUAD 2007/08
Graham
Clayton |
| Manager |
Age:
41 |
 |
Graham was a goalscoring machine in the early 90's and the first
player at the club to score 100 goals. He won the Reserve Division
One and Cup double in 2005, the Reserve Premier title a year later and also lead the Reserves to a Surrey Cup final. He is now in charge of the First team. |
Phil Lines |
| Position: Goalkeeper |
Age: 26 |
 |
Phil is a big, imposing keeper who made a welcome return to the club this season. Agile, strong and brave with very safe hands (although he is a 'would be striker' when he gets the opportunity).
|
| Phil
Rea |
|
Position: Defender/Midfielder |
Age:
32 |
 |
Phil is a very committed centre-back who loves to play centre-midfield. A true leader who battles for every ball, he is back in the first team after a couple of seasons travelling and injured. An inspirational long serving clubman. |
| Marc
Hawley |
|
Position: Defender |
Age:
24 |
 |
Marc (also known as ‘Calamity Jane’) is a classy left back who is comfortable at sweeper. He also likes to get forward. Unfortunately he is injury prone and rarely plays more than a few games in succession! |
| Neil
Marshall |
|
Position: Defender |
Age:
26 |
 |
Last season's First team Player of the Year, Neil is an excellent defender who reads the game well and has great timing in the tackle, which seems to be a dying art form. Neil loves to bomb forward whenever he can.
|
Mike Lines |
| Position: Defender |
Age:
26 |
 |
Along with his twin brother Phil, Mike has returned for a second spell at the club. A poacher turned game keeper, Mick has gone from scoring goals to helping stop them. He is excellent in the air and strong in the tackle.
|
Lawrence Ennis |
| Position: Defender |
Age: 30 |
 |
Lawrence has joined us from Walton Casuals where he was the club appearance record holder. Lawrence is very comfortable on the ball and uses all his experience to read the game and cut out danger. Never fazed and tremendously calm under pressure, he is linking up again with buddy Dave D’Rozario at Poplar Road.
|
Daragh Corrigan |
| Position: Defender/Midfielder |
Age: 22 |
| |
Daragh joined us midway through last season and can play either full back or wide midfield. He has great skill and lightning pace and is one of our merging crop of young players. |
| Nick
Raggett |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
27 |
 |
A midfielder who has everything you would want — good in the air, strong in the tackle, comfortable on the ball and an eye for goal (are you sure!?) A real box to box player whose great partnership with Steve Nash was parted in September following Nashy’s long term injury. |
| Steve
Nash |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
27 |
 |
Another influential midfielder who has everything you would want. Unfortunately after an excellent pre-season he got seriously injured very early in the season which is a big blow for the ORs. We hope he will return for the final push before the end of the season, although next season is a more realistic target. |
| Luke
Creates |
|
Position: Midfielder |
Age:
19 |
 |
The youngest member of the squad at 19, Luke broke into the first team last year and has progressed well this term. Luke is a right midfielder also comfortable at full-back. A tremendous work rate and good crosser of the ball, Luke recently became a father to Archie.
|
Paul Skinner |
| Position: Midfielder |
Age: |
| |
Paul is a hard working midfielder who prefers to play down the middle. He played a couple of games for the Reserves before impressing in the Boxing Day match and is a welcome addition to the first team squad.
|
| Andy
Flanagan |
|
Position: Universal! |
Age:
25 |
 |
Every manager's (and team mates) dream, Andy can play every position on the park and not look out of place. Nicknamed Duracell for obvious reasons, he never stops working for the team and scores some vital goals.
|
Richard
Lines |
| Position: Forward |
Age:
29 |
 |
Our Captain is nicknamed 'The Beast' although he can definitely play a bit as well. Linesy is a player you want to have in your team, another true leader who gives everything for the Ruts cause. Can play anywhere through the middle. |
Paul
Hull |
| Position: Midfielder/Striker |
Age:
28 |
 |
A long term Reserve team player who has broken into the first team squad on a regular basis during this campaign, Hully has bags of talent and a wand for a left foot (if only he had two left feet and an eye for goal!) Saw the light after a very brief spell away from the club this season but is now starting to show his credentials. |
Neil
Whyte |
| Position: Striker |
Age:
30 |
| |
A hard working centre forward with an eye for goal, Neil got better as last season went on and broke into the First team this season before a crude challenge sidelined him. Another player we are hoping to get back for the final push.
|
Steve
Berry |
| Position: Midfielder/Striker |
Age:
27 |
 |
Some may call Steve a right back, however he prefers to play more forward and is a prolific scorer for the Reserves. Steve is a very fit player with blistering pace (the poor lad doesn't drink).
|
| Dave
D'Rozario |
|
Position: Striker |
Age:
31 |
 |
Dave joined us last season after a knee injury forced him out of the semi-professional game a year earlier. A technically talented footballer with superb touch and control.
|
| Scott
Ryder |
|
Position: Striker |
Age:
31 |
 |
A former Player of the Year, Scott has been unavailable so far this campaign owing to family commitments. Due to return to the OR’s footballing bosom in January.
|
| Lee
Poulter |
|
Position: Striker |
Age:
27 |
 |
Often referred to as ORAFC’s prodigal son, unfortunately Trigger is another player hampered by injury and work commitments. When he is available regularly he has the ability to score for fun and has already chipped in with a few crucial goals this season. |
