YOUTH TEAM MATCH REPORTS SEASON 2005/2006 |
| Old Rutlishians U16 4-1 Southwark Tigers | |
| 12 November 2004 | London Saturday Youth League |
| By Nick Skilton The Ruts started off the game in a very positive way, dominating most of the play. Southwark caught us on the break though to go 1-0 up against the run of play. The Ruts bounced back fairly quickly with an outstanding shot from Luke Sharp from just past the halfway line which curled into the top right-hand corner of the net. Soon after Dwayne Mitchell put us 2-1 up with a well worked goal. And it was 3-1 when Lewis Kelly received a pass from Troy McGuigan who outpaced the last defenders to go on and slot the ball past the keeper. In the second half the Ruts kept the tempo up. Dwayne Mitchell received the ball from Jordan Tucker and split the Southwark defence with a through ball for Lewis Kelly to run onto and make it 4-1. We had to withstand some pressure and great play from the defenders and goalkeeper kept Southwark at bay. With minutes to go Lance Allen took a shoot from outside the box which rattled the bar. It was good to see Daniel Sinton and Troy McGuigan back playing and was the best performance so far this season. Lewis Kelly was Man of the Match. |

| Bollo United 1-4 Old Rutlishians U16 | |
| 19 November 2005 | London Saturday Youth League |
| By Nick Skilton After a good win at home the week before we were looking to carry on our winning ways. The first half started fairly slow with both teams sharing possession equally. The Ruts were passing the ball around quite comfortably, but sometimes over passing and getting caught in possession. Twenty minutes into the game Lewis Kelly picked out Dwayne Mitchell with a 30 yard pass. Dwayne skipped past two defenders to slot the ball past the keeper for 1-0. A mistake by our defence soon after let Bollo back into the game. This only lasted for five minutes though until Lewis Kelly stormed down the right hand side and cut inside to fire the ball past the helpless keeper. The score remained 2-1 until half-time. We carried on where we left off after the break and Lance Allen scored a fine individual goal from just inside the box. The Ruts carried on the momentum throughout the second half and sealed the victory and another three points. Luke Sharp was Man of the Match. |

| Old Rutlishians U16 15-0 Charis Youth | |
| 26 November 2005 | London Saturday Youth League |
| By Nick Skilton After a good performance the previous week the Ruts were looking to carry on their unbeaten run. Once again we started off in a positive way with the boys going 2-0 up within the first five minutes of play. We continued to dominate the game throughout the first half with the ruts going in at half time 8-0 ahead. We started off the second half a bit scrappy as we started to lose our shape as the boys knew the game was already won. After a couple of substitutions we got our shape back and went on to win 15-0. The goals were scored by Mitchell, Kelly, T Tucker, Sharp, Larkin, Sinton, Allen and Mathews. A special mention must go to Dwayne Mitchell and Luke Sharp who took a half each in goal. They were both rewarded with Man of the Match as they helped us out on the day. |

| Islamic 0-9 Old Rutlishians U16 | |
| 3 December 2005 | League Cup |
| By Nick Skilton Once again the Ruts got off to a flying start in this game, as in the previous week we dominated from the start and were soon 1-0 up. We carried on playing positive football and it wasn’t long before we were 2-0 up. As the half went on we carried on our dominance and went in at half time 4-0 up. After the break we grew stronger throughout the half and this was rewarded with us scoring another 5 goals. Apart from the Islamic’s goalkeeper the score would have been double the final score. Once again we were without our regular goalkeeper and once again the boys showed great team spirit by sharing goalkeeping duties, this time Troy Mcguigan and Jarrell Johnson helped us out and both deservedly won MOM. The goals were scored by Mitchell, Larkin, Sharp, J Tucker, Robinson,
Kelly and Lewis. |
